The municipality of Alkmaar is participating in POCITYF, an EU-subsidized project to make historic cities energy-positive without detracting from the cityscape. The rollout of ‘EV Laadtaarns’ was chosen for the Noorlandersingel, because the lampposts here are ideally positioned between parking spaces and the water of the canal. This makes it possible to charge both electric cars and boats. The project was made possible in part by CPO TotalEnergies, CityCharge and the municipality of Alkmaar.
The NAL (National Charging Infrastructure Agenda) sets the ambition in terms of the number of charging points for 2023: the stated ambition is still at least 1.7 million additional charging points compared to the 2020 benchmark.
