Municipality of Zaltbommel

This year, Zaltbommel was once again one of the more than 100 municipalities in the Netherlands that are participating in the nationally initiated National Climate Week. We are proud of that! And we did not stop at one week. Together with twelve organizations, Zaltbommel inspired residents through events, activities and publicity to work together on a better climate and Zaltbommel showed how they can participate themselves. In addition, Zaltbommel has decided to further expand the number of charging points in the municipality, with innovative charging points integrated into lampposts on the Fiep Westendorplaan being the first.

Four lampposts are designated to charge a total of 8 electric vehicles simultaneously. Nicely concealed in the lamppost and with a substantial 58% CO2 saving because there is only 1 object on the street and not a second separate charging station next to it in the street. Zaltbommel also counteracts grid congestion with this, because the smart power distribution system handles the available electricity charging capacity much more efficiently.
